So close…

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I was just thinking yesterday, where has time gone?  I mean it just seemed like Thanksgiving was last week.  I can remember when I was younger, it felt like forever between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I just can’t believe that Christmas is so close. Thank goodness we started shopping in August.  LOL… No kidding!  But I am thankful for that now!

It just amazes me that when you become a adult how things change in your mind.  Little Eli for example:  I asked him, Eli does it feel like Christmas is coming fast?  His response…It’s taken so long to get here.  LOL…  That shoots my theorythat days are shorter!  I just realized that he doesn’t have as much to think and worry about.  His pure mind simply wakes up, goes to school, waits for us to come and get him, goes to bed and does it all over again.  He goes and does where we desire him to.  Nothing more and nothing less…  I was thinking about how God wants us to be more like that .  If we would only go and do what He wants us to, that would free up our mind to think on Him and the gifts He has for us.

We just pray that you take the time to think upon Him this season.  Think about some of the promises you have yet to see, or maybe gifts that He has given that you haven’t unwrapped yet.  Ask Him for patience, and enjoy the journey…

God Bless

Snow day!!!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Well December is here and so is the snow!  My children are running around the house screaming it must be Christmas!!!  LOL…  I wish it would last a little bit longer, but I have a feeling it will be gone by this evening…  There is a special feeling in the air as we are coming upon the greatest event in history.  The birth of Jesus Christ.  I feel sorry for people who don’t celebrate this event.  They say it is a pagan holiday and it really isn’t the day that Jesus was born.  When ever it was this is the day we celebrate.  We just need to make sure we remember what this season is all about.  There is a extra pressure because we want to make sure we don’t leave anyone off our list.  We just want to encourage you to love those you haven’t had time to love.  Call those you haven’t had a chance to call.  And put those burdens at the foot of the cross this season…..  Enjoy the life that Jesus brought to this earth for you.  Take a moment to play in the snow with your  children, bake those cookies you have promised to bake, and enjoy the small things this season.  Those are the memories that will last a life time!

God Bless You!!!
